Following pressure from the French Environmental Minister, Ségolene Royal, Engie officially announced through its CEO, Mr Mestrallet, it will not build any new coal-fired plants. All projects underway will be honoured, and all other projects without contracts will be ditched. We view this move as positive, given the global trend is for greener power generation and then sooner or later the group would have to adapt further to this new world. Positive.
