tado° Smart Thermostats connect heating and air conditioning systems to the internet. The smartphone app detects when residents are leaving or approaching home, or when windows are opened, to set temperatures efficiently. Additionally, weather forecasts and adapting algorithms further contribute to save up to 31% on heating costs, while improving comfort at home.
The number of smart homes in Europe and North America will reach 91 million by 2020 - a key driver for smart home adoption is the rise of home assistants such as Apple HomeKit, the Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
The additional funds raised will be used to strengthen tado°s market position with best-in-class products and to extend its service offerings.
