Bryan, Garnier & Co advises ORPEA Group on the acquisition of Woonzorgnet B.V. in the Netherlands
Context
Founded in 2005, Woonzorgnet B.V. provides a broad range of psychiatric care.
There is a growing health market in the Netherlands and in 2017 alone, health expenditure reached EUR 4.5k on average per capita vs EUR 3.3k for the countries within the OECD.
Reflecting this market dynamic and as part of their growth strategy, Woonzorgnet’s management realized that they needed to find a strategic partner to speed up development in the Netherlands.

Bryan, Garnier & Co acted as the Sole Financial Advisor to ORPEA.
Bryan, Garnier & Co identified the target and negotiated the transaction with the selling shareholders.
The acquisition allows ORPEA to enter the very promising Dutch market thereby complementing its existing strong footprint in Continental Europe.
The transaction demonstrates the growth of Bryan, Garnier & Co’s work in the social care industries and the development of our footprint in the Netherlands such as the sale of Regas (a SaaS software vendor dedicated to health and social care industries) to BID Equity.

Based in Renkum, the Hinterlands, Woonzorgnet offers sheltered housing, daycare and outpatient support for patients with mental health issues or psychiatric illnesses. The company operates seven facilities with 162 beds.
